Don Ruben is owner of the farm and small micro mill. He uses a penagos ecological wet pulper and produces about 250 bags per harvest. He built his rustic mill from scratch determined to make a name for his farm to honor his grandfather. He has a mix of Caturra, bourbon and some original Arabica trees. His farm is located at 1400-1600 meters in the Santa Ana region. The farm is located up a very steep road his grand father built leading to the farm that sits in an old volcanic cauldron that is extinct but where steam vents still shoot up out of the ground and where locals use rocks heated by the steam to cook lunches.
The special volcanic soils do something as his coffee is very elegant and consistently good. We are excited to offer this Don Ruben El Cashal coffee and detected notes of lemon, apple and sweet cocoa
